XIII. TRANSPORT VEHICLE USAGE A. The transport vehicle will be searched for contraband prior 10 and upon completion of each transport. B. Both Inner and outer door locks shall be engaged any time a prisoner Is occupying the vehicle. XIV. TRANSPORT VEHICLE REFUEI..INQ A. The transport vehicle will be refueled at the Sheriff's Office patrol station. B. The pump is unlocked and accessible during normal business hours. C. After hours, the pump Is locked. A key for the pump is on the transport vehicle key ring. D. Officers will retain control of the pump head et all times while refueting the -- vehicle. The pump head Is not to be locked in the on position. XV. GENERAL TRANSPORT POLICIES A. All prisoners ere to be searched prior to transport. 1. When possible, the search should be conducted by a member of the same sex. e. Male and female prisoners shell be kept separate at all times. C. Combative prisoners should be kept separate from compliant prisoners. D. It Is the responsibility of the arresting agency to see that Injured or sick prisoners have been seen by a doctor or waived medical treatment prior to their transport to the jail facility. E. Prisoners in need of detox services shall not be transported to the jail facility. F Transport officers must verify that the prisoner Is 18 years of age or older G. Ail juveniles must be transported to the juvenile facilty by the arresting agency County wide transport will not be used for luveile trasnport. H. Property shall be removed from the inmate and stored in the property compartment of the vehicle. I. Property containing weapons (such as pocket knives, mace etc.) must be clearly marked with the word "weapon". J, Inmate property must be stored in the property compartment away from the Inmates. XVI. PAT SEARCHES A. Pat searches must be done in a careful and systematic manner. B. Searches shall be in keeping with individual departmental policy. G. Personal property items must be removed from the inmate and inventoried. XVII. INMATE PRQE�RTY A. Inmate property must be inventoried on ACACF form number ACF -065. B. Items should be described in full, Use model names and numbers when applicable. C. Care must be exercised when listing jewelry, clothing Items etc. Never assume quality when describing an item. Examples: yellow metal should be used, not gold. Red stone, not ruby. leather like, not leather. D. Inmate money must be counted, sealed in a money envelope and inventoried on ACACF form number ACF -058. E.
