Page -3- April 19, 1978
Mrs. Schilling said, Yes.
Mr. Gourley asked that a preliminary plat be drawn and it will be placed on the May 17,
1978 agenda.
Plat - Elmer Crohn
Mr. Crohn explained he had drawn this sketch so that he could obtain the Board's views
on his plans.
Mr. McLean said he should be sure to keep the lots at least one acre in size. Mr.
Crohn said he would and Carley Engineering would be drawing his preliminary plan.
Mr. Shearen asked how long the cul-de-sac would be. Mr. Crohn said a little over 1,100
feet. This would meet the ordinance requirements of less than 1,320 feet.
After further discussion, Mr. Crohn was told he would be placed on the May 17, 1978
agenda for his preliminary plat approval.
Plat - Sherwood Green - Preliminary, Mr. Charles Nelson
Mr. Nelson presented his preliminary plan for an area on 4th Avenue south of Main Street.
Mr. McLean asked Mr. Nelson if he was aware that the take -off pattern from the Air Park
could be over the southern tier of lots. Mr. Nelson said he was aware of the location
of the runway.
Mr. Kolstad was in the audience and explained the take - off pattern for an air craft
should not be over these lots. The pattern turns south at 4th Avenue. Mr. Nelson
explained that the lot nearest to the airfield may be designated for drainage or pond-
ing and not be built on. Mr. Gourley suggested that it could be noted in the deeds
for these lots that the airstrip take -off pattern could be over them.
Mr. Gourley suggested that the material submitted by the State Aeronautics Department
to the Air Park should be included in this plat.
Mr. Hill moved to recommend to Council that this preliminary plat be approved subject
to the final recommendations of Mr. Short and subject to Mr. Gotwald's recommendations.
Mrs. Schwankl seconded the motion. Motion declared passed.
Vernon Wahlberg - 77th Street extension and Variance
Mr. Wahlberg has sold property south of 77th and the buyer wishes to obtain a building
permit. It appears that 77th ends before or at the beginning of the property and the
Clerk has questioned if 77th is considered a street in front of this lot.
Mr. Gotwald submitted his recommendation with the notation that this lot does not have
frontage.
Mr. Gourley asked if the street in front of this lot were improved to the 77th present
standards, could a building permit be issued?
Mr. McLean noted that there may be only easements in this area and this would involve
dedication of easements from both the north and south property owners. He suggested
that Mr. Locher be asked for his legal advice on this matter.
