Planning & Zoning Board <br />November 8, 2017 <br />Page 3 <br />APPROVED MINUTES <br /> Chair Tralle asked if there is any intent to put snowmobile trails on the <br />map <br /> Ms. Amberg stated that the City does not put snowmobile trails <br />on the map but can acknowledge the existing trails <br /> Mr. Grochala stated that the Comp Plan can refer to the City’s <br />website where information is provided <br />o Draft Parks and Trails Map <br />o Discussion <br /> Mr. Stimpson stated the red wetland border conflicts with the existing <br />trails red line <br /> Mr. Grochala stated that this is being revised <br />o Lino Lakes’ Open Space / Natural Resource Areas & Greenway <br /> Previous designations: natural resource conservation area <br />(deleting/combining), natural resource protected area, natural resource <br />enhancement area, based on wetland management corridors from <br />RCWD & floodplains, based on connectivity to parks and trails <br /> Identify general areas for wetland banking <br /> Addition of pollinator initiatives in chapter <br />o Discussion <br /> Chair Tralle asked if the City is going to co-work with conservation <br />groups on the pollinator initiatives <br /> Ms. Amberg stated that it’s an initiative and WSB has <br />information that is able to be put into a brochure <br /> Ms. Amberg stated that conservation groups would have to be <br />cooperative with the City <br /> Mr. Grochala stated the Environmental Board recognizes the <br />importance of this <br /> Chair Tralle stated that it makes more sense to get the <br />pollinator plants put in rather than putting a brochure out <br /> Ms. Amberg stated that the information we have is detailed and <br />would be better served as an educational tool <br /> Mr. Grochala stated that the role of the Comp Plan is to get the <br />goals and policies incorporated <br /> Mr. Grochala addressed wetland banking <br /> In the park plan, there is a lot of green ways we want to <br />promote <br /> The City just finished a Wetland Banking Natural Resources <br />fund study at Woolens Park <br /> The wetland credits is a commodity <br /> The City established a wetland bank at Woolens Park by going <br />in and doing restoration activities and picked up 6 acres of <br />wetland credits <br /> The City has put about $70,000 into the project, 6 acres a credit <br />can be sold at $2.50 a square foot, generating $600,000+
