COUNCIL MINUTES <br />June 11, 2018 <br />W-10MMAL <br />80 Council Member Stoesz noted that this position is unpaid, includes twelve meetings per year, and it <br />81 represents an organization that does a good job representing cities in the state. He asks for the council's <br />82 support. <br />83 Council Member Manthey moved to approve Resolution No. 18-71 as presented. Council Member <br />84 Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote; Council Member Stoesz abstained from <br />85 voting. <br />86 311) Consider Appointment of Paid On -Call Fire Lieutenant — Human Resources Manager <br />87 Bartholomew reviewed the written report, including the process that brings the candidate forward and <br />88 the recommendation to hire Mr. Craig Menne. <br />89 Council Member Manthey moved to approve the appointment of Craig Menne as recommended. <br />90 Council Member Maher seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />91 3C) Consider Appointment of Police Officer —Human Resources Manager Bartholomew <br />92 reviewed the recommendation to hire Mr. Garrett Ellertson to the position of Police Officer for the <br />93 city. She reviewed the candidate's qualifications, the selection process and the staff hiring <br />94 recommendation. <br />95 Council Member Manthey moved to approve the appointment of Garrett Ellertson as recommended. <br />96 Council Member Stoesz seconded the motion. Motion carried on a voice vote. <br />97 3D) Consider Resolution 18-76, Liquor Compliance Violation —City Clerk Bartell reported that <br />98 earlier in the evening, the council held a liquor compliance hearing to consider liquor code violations <br />99 reported at the Don Julio Mexican Restaurant. The results of that hearing are that the board <br />100 recommended civil penalities of $2,000 and a 10-day liquor license suspension. That recommendation <br />101 is forwarded for formal council consideration. <br />102 Council Member Rafferty and Maher asked if they should automatically abstain from voting since they <br />103 missed the hearing. Staff suggested that wouldn't be necessary if the council members are comfortable <br />104 voting for the board's recommendation. <br />105 Council Member Manthey moved to approve Resolution No. 18-76 as presented. Council Member <br />106 Maher seconded the motion.
