<br />CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 6F <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Diane Hankee, City Engineer <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: November 13, 2018 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Resolution No. 18-160, Accepting Quotes and Awarding <br />Additional Construction Contract, Trunk Watermain Connection <br />at Birch Street and Black Duck Drive <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting authorization to accept quotes and award a construction contract for the <br />Trunk Watermain Connection at Birch Street and Black Duck Drive. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The watermain connection project at Birch Street and Black Duck Drive includes the connection <br />of a 10 inch diameter watermain to the City’s 16 inch diameter trunk watermain. The project is <br />being completed to improve the pressure and supply that is currently being handled through a 6 <br />inch line. The project is funded through the water operating fund. <br /> <br />Quotes for the project: <br /> <br /> CONTRACTOR TOTAL QUOTE <br />Dresel Contracting $20,000.00 <br />Valley Rich $22,200.00 <br />Olson’s Sewer Service, Inc. $28,810.86 <br /> <br />The low quote was submitted by Dresel Contracting. of Chisago City, Minnesota, in the amount <br />of $20,000.00. The final completion date for this project is May 31, 2019. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 18-160 accepting quotes and awarding a <br />construction contract for the Trunk Watermain Project at Birch Street and Black Duck Drive, in <br />the amount of $20,000.00 to Dresel Contracting. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />1.
