constitute final acceptance by the Village and such maintenance or partial acceptance of <br />P, the Council shall not have any effect upon agreements existing between the Village and <br />the owner for further improvements on such streets. <br />/'1 <br />SECTION 16. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS <br />The following specifications are general and will apply to each and every street hereafter <br />constructed in the Village. Definite and detailed specifications and plans shall be de- <br />signed by the Village Engineer for each individual project based upon its own location and <br />special features. The detailed specifications shall be in accordance with this general <br />outline. <br />SECTION 17. GRADING <br />(.A) The full width of the right-of-way shall be graded, including the sub -grade of <br />areas to be stabilized, in accordance with the design prepared and staked by the Village <br />Engineer and in accordance with the standard typical cross -sections attached hereto. <br />(B) After the rough grading has been accomplished and the street is at the approxi- <br />mate established grade, the center thirty-two (32) feet, lying sixteen (16) feet on each <br />Aide of the centerline shall be lowered to an elecation which is twelve (12) inches below <br />the established profile grade. The sub -base shall be cons+ructed within this area to a <br />depth of nine (9) inches. The material used for the sub -base shall conform to the re- <br />quirements of the current Minnesota Department of Highways specifications for Highway Con- <br />struction, Section 3138 for Class 5 aggregate, this material shall be placed in layers <br />not more than four (4) inches i.n compacted thickness. Compaction shall be obtained by <br />the method of ordinance compaction. <br />SECTION 18. ROAD MIXED BITUMINOUS BASE <br />The construction of the bituminous base shall include the placing of the necessary gravel <br />material and the application of bituminous material as described herein. This work shall <br />all be included in one operation, that is, the contractor shall place the gravel material <br />on the roadway as specified only at such time as the application of the bituminous material <br />shall follow immediately. The aggregate shall conform to the requirements of Section 3138 <br />for Class 2 aggregate modified to permit a minimum of these (3) passing the No. 200 sieve. <br />The bituminous material for the prime coat shall be MC-1 and shall be applied to the pre- <br />pared sub -base at the rate designated by the Engineer which shall be not less than 0.1 <br />gallon and not more than 0.3 gallons per square yard. The bituminous material for the <br />mixture shall be MC-3 unless otherwise designated, and shall be applied as directed in the <br />detailed specifications for the particular project, depending upon the character of the <br />aggregate being used. <br />SECTION 19. BITUMINOUS SEAL COAT <br />The bituminous seal -coat shall be constructed in accordance with the material and con- <br />struction requirements of Section 2356 of the Minnesota State Highway Dept. specifica- <br />tions. The rate of application shall be as directed by the Engineer, within the range <br />of 0.18 gallons to 0.22 gallons per square yard. The aggregate shall conform to the re- <br />quirements of Section 3127. The exact gradation and rate of application shall be as <br />specified for each project and as directed by the Engineer. <br />SECTION 20. BITUMINOUS CURB <br />The bituminous curb shall be composed of a mixture of aggregate and asphaltic material <br />
