(F) "Related Employee" shall mean the following kin of <br />either the employee or employee's spouse: children, <br />mother, father, brother, sister, grandparents or first <br />cousins. <br />Section 4. Work Week. The regular workweek shall consist of <br />forty (40) hours. Overtime to be used as time off at the rate of <br />12 hours for each hour worked, to be limited to accu mulated time <br />of ten (10) days to be taken with approval of the Council. If the <br />employee works on a Holiday, he shall have two(2) hours off as <br />compensatory time for each hour worked. <br />Section 5. Vacation Time. Permanent employees shall be en- <br />titled to five (5) days vacation after one (1) year of service; <br />ten (10) days after two (2) years of service. After five (5) <br />years of service the employee shall be given one (1) additional <br />day of vacation per year worked; this to be continued through <br />the tenth (l0th) year of service. Vacations are to be taken in <br />the year following anniversay or employment and each year there- <br />after. Vacations must be arranged for at least thirty (30) days <br />in advance and be approved by the Council. <br />Section 6. Waiver and Accumulation of Vacation Leave. Vacation <br />leave is intended as a period of rest and relaxation and may not <br />be waived by an employee for the purpose of receiving double pay. <br />No employee shall be permitted to accumulate vacation time from <br />one year to the next, except that the Village Council may approve <br />an accumulation of all or part of the previous year's vacation if, <br />in their opinion, unusual circumstances exist. <br />Section 7. Sick Leave. A permanent full-time employee shall be <br />given five (5) days sick leave per year, non -accumulative, to be <br />reviewed periodically. <br />Section 8. Holidays. A permanent employee shall be paid for six <br />(6) holidays as follows: <br />1. New Year's Day --January 1 <br />2. Memorial Day --The last Monday in May <br />3. Independence Day -- July 4. <br />4. Labor Day --The first Monday in September <br />5. Thanksgiving Day --The fourth Thursday in November <br />6. Christmas Day --December 25. <br />When New Year's Day, Independence Day or Christmas Day fall on a <br />Sunday, the following day shall be a holiday. When these holidays <br />fall on a Saturday, the preceding day shall be a holiday. In order <br />to be eligible for paid holidays, employees must work the last work- <br />ingday before and the first working day after such holidays, unless <br />onvacation, on leave or otherwise excused. <br />-226- <br />
