(F) Height limitations shall not apply to barns, silos, and other struc- <br /> tures on farms, to church spires, belfries, cupolas and domes, <br /> /004� monuments, chimneys and smokestacks, flag poles, public and private <br /> utility facilities, transmission towers of commercial and private <br /> radio broadcasting stations, television antennae, and parapet walls <br /> extending not more than four feet above the limiting height of the <br /> building except as hereinafter provided. <br /> (G) In any yards: Terraces, steps, exposed ramps (wheelchair) , un- <br /> covered porches, stoops, or similar features provided they do not <br /> extend above the height of the ground floor level of the principal <br /> structure or to a distance less than five (5) feet from any lot line <br /> nor less than one (1) foot from any existing or proposed access drive. <br /> Yard lights and name plate signs in Residential Districts, trees, <br /> shrubs, plants, floodlights, or other sources of light illuminating <br /> authorized illuminated signs, or light standards for illuminating <br /> parking areas, loading areas or yards for safety and security reasons, <br /> provided the direct source of light is not visible from the public <br /> right-of-way or adjacent residential property. <br /> 4.08 FARMING OPERATIONS <br /> All farms in existence upon the effective date of this Ordinance and all <br /> farms which are brought into the Village by annexation shall be a per- <br /> mitted use. All dwelling units and structures for processing of farm <br /> goods shall require a building permit and conform to all requirements of <br /> the building code. The Village_ Counci]may require any new farm operation : <br /> to secure a Special Use-Permit- in_ the event of the following: <br /> (A) The farm is adjacent to or within 400 feet of any dwelling unit and <br /> may be detrimental to living conditions by emitting noise, odors , <br /> vibrations,hazards to safety, and the like. <br /> (B) The farming operations are so intensive as to constitute an in- <br /> dustrial type use consisting of the compounding, processing, and <br /> packaging of products for wholesale or retail trade and further <br /> that such operations may tend to become a permanent industrial <br /> type operation that cannot be terminated as can a normal farming <br /> operation. <br /> 4.09 VACATED STREETS <br /> Whenever any street, alley, easement, or public way is vacated by <br /> official action the zoning district abutting the centerline of the said <br /> vacated area shall not be affected by such proceeding. <br /> 4.10 PLATTING <br /> All buildings hereafter erected upon unplatted land shall be so placed <br /> -� that they will not obstruct proper street extensions or other features of <br /> proper subdivision and land planning. Any lot or lots of five acres or <br /> less, or less than 300 feet in width, created by any means for purposes <br /> of erecting a structure must be as approved by the Village Council.
