If a Police Officer is scheduled to work on a holiday, he or <br />she will be paid an additional days pay. <br />SECTION 12. HOSPITALIZATION AND LIFE INSURANCE. A full-time <br />Police Officer shall carry his own private insurance to which the City will <br />contribute a sume of Twenty-five $25.00) dollars per month or 50% of premium, <br />whichever is less, upon proof of payment of premium. <br />SECTION 13. DEFINITIONS. <br />(A) "Permanent Full -Time Police Officer" shall mean an officer <br />who has completed his probationary period and who serves in <br />a position which is provided for in the budget on a permanent <br />basis. <br />(B) "Permanent Part -Time Police Officer" shall mean an officer <br />who has successfully completed the required probationary <br />period and is employed on a schedule of less than 40 hours <br />per week. <br />That the period of time which a person has spent under this Section <br />shall be considered toward and as a part of the probationary period for <br />consideration under Section 14 herein, and otherwise herein, so that once a <br />person has worked, under this Section, for more than 6 months he shall be <br />considered as having worked his full 6 months probationary period under this <br />ordinance. <br />SECTION 14. REVIEW. Any Police Officer who has been in the em- <br />ploy of the City fdr a period of six (6) months shall be subject to review <br />by the City Council. Any police officer who has been in the employ of the <br />City for a period of six months shall not thereafter be discharged without <br />good cause. Whenever such Police Officer is to be discharged from his <br />employment after six (6) months probation for a cause, he shall be suspend- <br />ed until a hearing before the Council. The hearing is to be held within ieri <br />days of receipt of written notification; such notification is to beforwarded <br />by United States Registered Mail to the last known address of such Police <br />Officer. Nothing in this section shall be construed to mean that the Council <br />or Police Chief may not discharge an officer if his job has been abolished. <br />However, an attempt shall be made to relocate such an officer in other <br />employment in th €ity if possible. Tenure provided by this section shall <br />apply only to full-time officers in the City service and shall not apply to <br />part-time officers. If, after a hearing, the officer is reinstated, he shall <br />be paid for time lops resulting from suspension. <br />
