Enivornmental Board <br />July 31, 2019 <br />Page 4 <br />DRAFT MINUTES <br />Ms. Holmes will be there and reached out to Boy Scout troop 232 <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan will also be there and stated that line up is the east side of Target at <br />10:30am <br /> <br />It was suggested that the group stay together and not spread out to much along the <br />parade route <br /> <br />Ms. Andrzejewski mentioned that we can point them in the direction of the trash <br />container that will be placed on the parade route <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan suggested ordering new shirts <br /> <br />B. Recycling Updates/Recycling Intern, Connor Kvendru <br /> <br />Mr. Kvenc presented the first half of the score report which covers January 1 st to <br />June 30th of this year, which is tonnage and expenses <br /> <br /> Textile - just over 3 tons from Simple Recycling <br /> Organicis - 6 tons collected by Ace Recycling <br /> Recycling Saturday – 51 tons <br /> <br />At the corn roast where there were waste stations and signage recycling collected <br />was 38.24 lbs just under .02 tons and organics collected there was 281 lbs just under <br />1.5 tons. Noted was that we had ran out of organic bags. <br /> <br />At Blue Heron Days there will be three organic collection sites at the Lino Park and <br />at American Legion there will be two for a total of five collection sites <br /> <br />Mr. Schwartz mentioned putting a sign on the organic collection containers saying <br />no plastic may help with contamination <br /> <br />Ms. Holmes wanted to know what happen to fencing and signs at the organic sites <br /> <br />Mr. Flowers wanted to know about sending out an informational email and by <br />viewing the clicks to see how many people open the email. Also having a simple <br />video with the message may get more of a response. <br /> <br />Mr. Flower also suggested having a information video on the website relating to <br />organics and recycling <br /> <br /> Ms. Kaufenberg wanted to know about putting information out in the city newsletter. <br /> Also having all the cans in the same area with signs identifying what goes into which <br /> cans <br /> <br />
