Consider Resolution No. 19-133, Accepting Quotes, Open <br />Space Restoration & Filtration Basin/Island Area <br /> <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 Vote Required <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />Staff is requesting Council consideration to accept quotes for the remaining improvements of <br />the St. Clair Estates development. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On July 23, 2019 the City Attorney sent a notice letter to the Developer that they were in <br />default of the Development Agreement for failure to complete the improvements in a timely <br />manner. The notice gave until August 23, 2019 to complete the remaining work as detailed <br />above. Staff continued to work with the Developer by responding to questions and meeting on <br />site. The majority of the punch list items were not completed and on October 1, 2019 the City <br />made a Letter of Credit draw request for $71,000.00 to complete the remaining work. <br /> <br />Staff sent out requests for quotes, to four different types of contractors, to complete the <br />remaining work in the St. Clair Estates development. A summary of quotes received is provided <br />for each below. <br /> <br />i. Open Space Plantings <br /> <br />CONTRACTOR TOTAL QUOTE <br />Margolis Company $23,180.00 <br />Midwest Landscapes $22,594.00 <br /> <br />The low bid was submitted by Midwest Landscapes of Otsego, Minnesota, in the <br />amount of $22,594.00.
