City of Lino Lakes - ZONING ORDINANCE <br />• Drainage. The removal of surface water or groundwater from land by drains, <br />grading or other means which include runoff controls to minimize erosion and <br />sedimentation during and after construction or development, the means for <br />preserving the water supply and the prevention or alleviation of flooding. <br />Drainage System. Any natural or artificial feature or structure used for the <br />conveyance, drainage, or storage of surface and/or underground water, <br />including, but not limited to, streams, rivers, creeks, ditches, channels, conduits, <br />gullies, ravines, washes, lakes or ponds and structures such as culverts, <br />drainage tile, dams, bridges and water storage basins. <br />Drainageway. Any natural or artificial watercourse, trench, ditch, swale or <br />similar depression into which surface water flows. <br />Drive -In Restaurant. A building or portion thereof where food and/or beverages <br />are sold in a form ready for consumption and where all or a significant portion of <br />the consumption takes place or is designed to take place outside the confines of <br />the building, often in a motor vehicle on the site. <br />Drive -In Use. An establishment which by design, physical facilities, service, or <br />• by packaging procedures encourages or permits customers to receive services, <br />obtain goods or be entertained while remaining in their motor vehicles. <br />Driveway. A private roadway providing access for vehicles to a parking space, <br />garage, dwelling or other structures. <br />Dwelling. A structure or portion thereof which is used exclusively for human <br />habitation. <br />Dwelling, Efficiency. A dwelling unit consisting of not more than one habitable <br />room together with kitchen or kitchenette and sanitary facilities. <br />Dwelling, Multiple -Family. A structure containing more than two dwelling units. <br />Dwelling, Non -Farm. A single family dwelling located on a farm or otherwise <br />which is not a farm dwelling. <br />Dwelling, Single Family Detached. A dwelling which is designed for and <br />occupied by not more than one family and surrounded by open space or yards <br />and which is not attached to any other dwelling by any means. <br />• Dwelling, Townhouse. A one -family dwelling in a row of at least three (3) such <br />units in which each unit has its own front and rear access to the outside, no unit <br />
