CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 3C <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Meg Sawyer, Human Resources Manager <br />MEETING DATE: January 25, 2021 <br />TOPIC: COVID-19 Medical and Personal Leave of Absence Policy <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br />INTRODUCTION <br />The Council is being asked to consider approval of the newly created COVID-19 Medical and <br />Personal Leave of Absence Policy. <br />BACKGROUND <br />The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) expired as of December 31, 2020. The <br />City of Lino Lakes would like to continue to offer COVID sick leave to our employees through <br />March 31, 2021. We feel this is our best option moving forward to keep City Hall, Public Safety <br />and Public Works as safe as possible during this pandemic. <br />The COVID Sick Leave would allow employees to use up to 80 hours of sick time when they <br />have a COVID related illness. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff is recommending approval of the COVID-19 Medical and Personal Leave of Absence <br />Policy. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />1.
