Page Three Special Park Board Meeting July 21 , 1983 n BMX TRACK Mr. Schumacher reported that a quote for a chain link fence had been obtained by Mr. Volk in the amount of $910 . 00 , a platic fence - $481 . 00. This is just for the South edge of the track. Mr.R. Johnson had some questions on the area where the snow fence is now - he felt this is where the problems will occur, esepcially with snow mobiles . Mr. R. Johnson asked if any figures had been received from Mr. Kleinhans and Mr . Schumacher said, No. Mr. Johnson said the Lions ' Club had dedicated $1000 . 00 to the construction of this track and he felt this money could be used toward the fence. It was suggested that Mr. Schumacher contact Mr. Klienhans and asked what the financial status is at this time. Mr. Schumacher was also requested to ask Mr. Volk to measure the East line of the Park for possible fencing. ORDINANCE #83-02 The first reading of this Ordinance has already been presented by the Council . Mr. Johnson briefly went through the requirements of this ordinance. It was suggested that the penalty for violation be printed so the public is informed what the consequences are for a violation. COUNTRY LAKES PARK UPDATE Mr . Schumacher reported on the meeting with Mr . L. Jambois . They toured the lake by boat. The park property was inspected and found theere is a silt problem but it is about 150 ' out into the Lake and very little in the area proposed for a beach in the park. Mr. Jambois felt this area was adequate for the proposed use. On the weed problem, Mr. Jambois recommended that a hydrogolist be contacted for his recommendation; Mr. Arntzen asked if the boat access had been discussed and Mr. Jambois suggested, that since this area is very shallow, that a shallow access by provided that would only accomadate canoes , sail boats , etc. Mr . Arntzen felt that the money dedicated to the installation of a boat launch be used in some other area of development of that park. If the launch area is to be shallow, most of the boats using the area would be protable, therefore an elaborate boat launch is unnecessary. Mr.Schumacher suggested that the original schedule be maintained - that is , develop the park as planned and leave the launch area to the last There is only $2500 . 00 proposed for this purpose.
