Park Board <br /> July 6 , 1982 <br /> Page Two <br /> The general consensus of the Park Board was to g geIt an idea of the cost <br /> of the dredging - then proceed with the other items of the development <br /> plan . <br /> Mr$. LaBlond moved to authorize Mr . Volk <br /> and if they can bring back to the next meeting . <br /> Mr . R . Johnson amended this motion to ask for the plans by the next <br /> regular _Park Board meeting scheduled for August 2 , 1982 . Seconded by <br /> Motion carried unanimously . <br /> RECREATION NEEDS SURVEY <br /> Mr . Flannery was to prepare a rough draft for this survey to be considered <br /> by this Board , but since Mr . Flannery is absent , Chairman Johnson felt <br /> that maybe the Board should preceed without him . <br /> Members of the Board felt that Mr . Flannery should be contacted for any <br /> work he �,-,s done in order to avoid duplication - Chairman Johnson will <br /> contact Mr . Flannery before the next meeting . This item to be tabled . <br /> CONTRACT FOR ARENA ACRES PARK DEVEOPMENT <br /> The contract was prepared by Mr . Bill Hawkins at the request of the Park <br /> ,O 1 Board . The contract ties the work to a Letter of Credit to insure the <br /> development is completed . The estimated cost is $13 , 500 . 00 . <br /> The construction deadline of Sept . 1983 was discussed . Should this <br /> deadline be maintained? or should this work be tied into the construction <br /> of the streets and number of homes in the area? <br /> After some discussion of this matter, Mr . R. Johnson moved to recommend <br /> the contract be approved as written . Seconded by Mr . Scherer . Motion <br /> carried unanimously . <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Mr . Schumacher reported that he .had presented the request four the repainting <br /> of the sign at Sunrise Park and they had approved with Thanks . Mr . R . <br /> Johnson said he was not sure of the time schedule but it would be done <br /> sometime this summer. <br /> Mrs . Elsenpeter reminded the Park Board of the Ordinance preventing <br /> motorized vehicles in the parks . She felt the Park Board should establish <br /> a master plan for the City parks designating where the road areas are <br /> and where motorized vehicles are not allowed . The driving areas at <br /> Sunrise was discussed with the areas to be blocked off indicated . <br /> Mr . R. Johnson felt the Ordinance should have included a ' No Parking ' <br /> provision for the parking lots that would exclude all except the park <br /> users . Mr . Schumacher indicated that this could be added by Resolution. <br /> This restrictions was directed particularly to the Lino(,Park parking <br /> lot being used by Luther ' s Sport Shop , by its employees and customers . <br />
