Park Board
April 5 , 1982
Page Two .
unanimoulsy . This work not to exceed $1500 . 00 in cost .
DNR RULES ON LAKE RESTRICTIONS
Mr. Lindy pointed out that there are no restrictions that could be put on
the use of the park that would not apply to the entire lake including the
residents .
There was discussion on the use of the lake with Mr . Lindy pointing out that
he bought on the lake for the specific purpose of being able to use the
lake for his boat .
Mrs . LeBlond said she has been supporting the use of canoes and sail boats
only on that lake .
Someone asked if the boat launch could not be elimintated and it was pointed
out that this facility is a part of the grant .
There was a question as to how many power boats are on the lake and Mr .
Lindy thought there were approximately 25 .
Mr . Scherer did not feel the lake was large enough to mix all types of
boats - speed boats could jeopardize the smaller boats and possibly the
swimmers .
Mr . Johnson pointed out this is not a private lake and is open for use by
all residents of the State of Minnesota . He also felt this lake is too
small and too shallow for use of power boats .
Mr . K. Johnson noted that the DNR suggested time periods of the day or the
year for use by certain types of boats .
Mrs . LeBlond felt there are several problems to be addressed : the LAWCON
Grant included the boat launch- can this be modified? Someone felt that
Mr . Schumacher had the answer to that question . Someone else felt that the
entire application should be looked at and see if there is anything else
they would like to change or modify .
There was some discussion on the enforcement of rules and regulations and
how this enforcement could be handled .
Since there is plenty of time to work on this matter , it was suggested
further discussion on this be tabled until the May :agenda.
Mrs . LeBlond asked what it to be accomplished this year in the development
of this park? is there a time frame?
Mr. Volk said he did not believe there had been a time line set for the
development of the park .
BOY SCOUT TREE PLANTING
Mr. Volk reported that the Boy Scouts are interested in planting some trees
in the parks . The City will be getting some trees from the DNR and he will
contact the Boy Scouts for assistance in planting the trees .
