ism
MEMO
TO: Marty Asleson
FROM: Carole Kohler
DATE: October 28, 1992
SUBJECT: Survey of Cities Regarding Park Dedication Requirements
for Churches
Marty,
As per your request I called the cities of Cottage Grove,
Stillwater, Inver Grove Heights, North St. Paul, Rosemount and
Brooklyn Park and asked them how they addressed the question of
park dedication requirements for churches. Four of them, Cottage
Grove, Inver Grove Heights, North St. Paul and Rosemount reported
that they consider churches exempt from dedication. Brooklyn Park
^ considers churches to be commercial development and require a fee
based upon their commercial formula, and Stillwater looks at
churches as an institution which is addressed in the commercial
part of their dedication requirements.
