CITY OF LINO LAKES PARK BOARD MEETING MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1994 a 10 acre site in the area shown as Phase V. The land to the east should not have the property line running through it (the exception area) and a trail access to the area is needed, but not shown on the sketch plan. Tony introduced himself and pointed out the areas that he did and did not control. He showed the two areas where there was major objection to the development and an exception area that may or may not be sold or developed by the owner. George asked if Tony would consider a loop trail system. He felt it may help get people from one end of the development to the other or to loop them through as a long walking trail. Tony said that they would take a look at that idea. Amy voiced her concern about this development. She stated that this development was going to be confined and wanted to see the people in the area have enough recreation in their neighborhoods to keep them happy. Tony replied that if you look at the layout of the development, you will see that there is plenty of open space in the development. ,-� Amy asked if they had done a study on the amount of children that would be entering School District #624 from this development. Tony said he had contacted the school district and they sent a letter saying they approach growth as an opportunity and grow with it. He said the letter was on file with the Planning Department. There was other discussion on the development. Some questions asked were whether the developer could provide playground equipment, the estimated population and cost of homes in Phase III and IV, the length of time it will take to complete the whole project, the number of realtors that will be selling the homes, zoning in the area, the trees in the development, underground utilities and other questions and concerns about the trail system. Ken also asked what could be done with a 3-4 acre parcel. Marty and Tony replied there was enough room for a ballfield if that was what the board wanted to put there. It was decided even though the board has to look at the development as a whole, the board should make its recommendation on Phase I and II . Sharon said the trail system in Phase I and II should be discussed. Marty said he would eventually like to see the trail go all the way to Hugo. He said what we were trying to do with 10,14, the lineal trail corridor concept is to try and hug the wetlands and use the natural area as much as possible to make it a 4
