CITY OF LINO LAKES PARK BOARD MEETING M ONDAY, OCTOBER 3, 1994 funding, for the projects, each year. Marty explained that the 1995 Park Goals had been sent to the members in their packets. He said the members were asked to prioritize the goals, according to their level of importance (0 being low-10 being high) and bring them to the October 3rd Park Board Meeting. George asked when these requests would go before the City Council. Marty replied January. George stated the neighborhood projects require months of preliminary work and neighborhood meetings before construction can start, so he thought they should be brought before the City Council prior to January so expenditures can be approved. At this point it was found that several members had not completed the surveys correctly, so it was decided that they would redo them and turn them in at the end of the meeting. Marty said staff would do a tally and get an average score for each project and put it on the agenda for the next meeting. Ken suggested that after the priority list is completed it should be discussed and a decision made on what projects city staff can complete and what should be contracted out. E. Other Park and Recreation Updates: Marty reported that the playground raising at Woods of Baldwin Lake Park went well. There were many enthusiastic people there and as the day wore on many more came. He said that the timbers and pea rock have been put down and it looks very nice. He added that the trail has started to be graveled. Barry reported that the recreation programs are going well. The first sessions of aerobics and karate classes are filled and we have received registrations for later programs. He then talked about volleyball program locations. He explained that the sites are not listed in the brochure because at the time the brochure went to press we did not have confirmed locations. He said that the schools are very cooperative and he is pleased that we have a good working relationship with them. Marty said that Rice Lake Elementary school has provided the Park and Recreation Department with a bulletin board. Marty then discussed a Consortium City ADA Disability Focus Group meeting that is scheduled for October 6. They are getting together to discuss how they can form a Consortium Recreation Accessibility to Recreation Programs Group. He added that District 11, Centennial Community School, Shoreview, Spring Lake Park, Blaine, Circle Pines and Lexington as well as other cities are interested in cost sharing. Bridging and networking is being done now between Roseville and New Brighton, Hopkins and Minnetonka as well as other cities. 5
