He added that the 1994 <br /> trails were paved today (9/7/94) and a grader backed onto the <br /> Quail Ridge boardwalk and collapsed it. He reported that the <br /> inspector is doing a great job, he is really on top of things, <br /> and makes sure the contractor is doing things right. Pam then <br /> asked about the church area. Marty stated that it has been left <br /> up to the property owners and the church to work out the <br /> problems. He said Jack Farris was to work with an engineer and <br /> they were to move the trail themselves, if this is what they <br /> decide to do. Marty stated that there would be another <br /> development brought before the Park Board in the near future. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: There was no old business <br /> NEW BUSINESS CONTINUED: <br /> A. Joint/Cooperative ADA Meeting: Marty discussed a community <br /> bridging meeting to create an effective and viable recreation <br /> program for people with disabilities. He explained that the <br /> participating numbers were not there. He also stated that Jim <br /> Peterson, from Blaine, is very positive that they want to do <br /> something. He could not make the first meeting but he was going <br /> to meet with Marty and Becky on September 15. Brian Bourassa <br /> asked what programs have been tried. Marty explained they have <br /> tried walking groups and an aquatic program that did not go <br /> because there was not enough people to participate. George <br /> talked about the waterskiing program in White Bear Lake. It was <br /> slow to start but once it got started it has grown very fast. <br /> Sharon said that we should make contact with the Courage Center. <br /> It was also suggested that the YMCA and Shoreview Community <br /> Center be contacted. Marty explained that Becky has met with the <br /> group homes in the community to see if she could get some <br /> programs started. <br /> Marty then mentioned the ADA compliance report. He said that <br /> bids were let, JoAnn Wright, Anoka County approved the procedure, <br /> and we have hired Julee Quarve-Peterson to finish the compliance <br /> portion of the ADA report. It should be done sometime this <br /> month. <br /> C. Fall/Winter 194- 195 Brochure: Marty discussed the brochure <br /> and how registration for the programs were going. Joe asked <br /> about the locations for volleyball. Brian wanted to know why <br /> some programs had date, time and location listed and others did <br /> not. Sandie explained the programs (ie. basketball) that did not <br /> list time etc. were programs that we wanted the people to call in <br /> because they required further explanation and we had to send a <br /> registration packet to them.
