PARK BOARD
August 1,1W
fields, shelters, and the like. The following items need to be
addressed:
1. Official Wetland Delineation must be completed.
2. Wetlands may have to be rearranged to maximum use of site.
If permits seem reasonable from RCWD then the City should
pursue the purchase.
3. Firm up concept plan.
4. Prepare cost analysis and phasing plan.
5. Package improvements for referendum.
Several questions were raised by Board Members. Amy Donlin asked
about Cedar Lake. Sharon Lane questioned the need/want for a
larger recreation type building. Marty explained that this had
been considered and may become a part of a new City Hall, at least
in the planning process for future consideration. Marty explained
that the neighborhood park concept may be incorporated into the
complex or may be addressed with the Trappers Crossing Plat. Joe
Schmidt expressed concern about the extreme southern location of
the proposed complex. Amy also expressed concern about traffic on
Holly Drive and encouraged the use of low impact lighting. She
indicated that the City should try to impact the neighborhood as
little as possible. Jeff Schoenbauer stated that due to the large
amount of wetlands on the site and in the vicinity that there
should be a minimal impact on adjoining properties. The next step
would be 1) delineate the wetland 2) appraise the site and outlined
payment options 3) take the concept plan to a Council work session.
Marty and George were considering flying the site on Saturday to
take additional photos.
B.
