PARK BOARD
August 1,1994
working on landscaping and screening projects.
10. Lino Park Parking Lot is completed - gravel used in case
plan changes in future. Flowers planted.
11. Fawn Lane drainage problem has been corrected so the area
on south side of park can be mowed.
12. 175 to 250 people have been attending the performances in
the park. Very popular event - weather has been good.
13. Playground program was good - excellent workers.
14. Safety camp coming up.
15. Fall/Winter Brochure in the process.
16. Teen Committee is formed. Some good suggestions for fall
- dance, trip to Mall of America, ski trip.
17. Softball - fall leagues forming. T-Ball went well. Summer
softball program was successful.
18. Quarterly report reviewed.
19. Small fire reported on fishing dock.
20. Park and Trail Patrol is starting - could help eliminate
some problems in the parks. At this time, gates on the parks are
not being used.
21. Next year the department will probably be asking for an
additional part time seasonal worker.
22. Woods of Baldwin Lake park needs may be discussed next
meeting. It was suggested that the City check into using some of
the County Park property for a small neighborhood park. Marty has
walked the site and there is a lot of wetland. Possibly some of
the wetland could be cut and used for ball field.
23. Leonard & Bradley Park - equipment in place. Warming
house at Lino Park.
24. Trail Paving - some time mid-August. Total cost $25-
28,000. No paving in the Shores of Marshan Plat this year.
Waiting until next year.
C.D. GOAL SETTING MEETING/REVIEW GOALS: Meeting scheduled for
9/22/94 at 6: 00 P.M. - Park and Rec. Building.
OLD BUSINESS: There was no old business.
NEW BUSINESS: Joe Schmidt reported that he will be working with the
new police rangers. Proposal includes trained volunteers roving
the city park trails.
NEXT MEETING: The Board set Wednesday, September 7, 1994 for the
next regular Park Board Meeting due to the Labor Day Holiday.
ADJOURNMENT: Upon the unanimous consent of the Board the meeting
was adjourned at 8:35 P.M.
3
