CITY OF LINO LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD MEETING <br /> MONDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 1994 <br /> segment on the south would be important for connection through <br /> future MUSA expansion and trail connections into the park trail <br /> corridor to the south. All wetland approvals have been obtained for <br /> this process. <br /> There was some discussion about running the trail to the west. Mr. <br /> Mattke says the developer has tried to deal with the landowner here <br /> and has been unsuccessful. <br /> MOTION: After a short discussion a motion was made by Brian <br /> Bourassa to accept a cash dedication in the amount of $8290 for <br /> park dedication based on 8.29 acres. For trail dedication, accept <br /> the proposed plat with trail dedication in the northeast corner, <br /> with an additional trail located in the south part of the plat. <br /> This south trail location will be determined by the developer and <br /> staff. In addition, a letter from the developer is required stating <br /> that all pending taxes have been paid on dedicated park trail land. <br /> The motion was seconded by Ken Johnson. A vote showed all were in <br /> favor. Motion passed. Note: Brian Bourassa commented that he would <br /> still like to see the developer try' to work with the landowner to <br /> ,.� the west. <br /> RICE LAKE ESTATES - At the request of the board, staff researched <br /> this project from the first time it appeared as an item on the park <br /> board agenda and provided the board with copies of their findings. <br /> Marty Asleson explained that there was $40,000 put into dedicated <br /> park funds for a joint park with Circle Pines. <br /> This item was a matter of discussion at the park board goal setting <br /> session. Continuing to pursue the park and agreement with Circle <br /> Pines was number 6 on the priority list for this year. George feels <br /> it is important that he board designate the money required to <br /> develop the Rice Lake park so that it is not spent elsewhere while <br /> plans are underway. Marty Asleson will continue to monitor Circle <br /> Pines and let them know again that we are anxious to get moving on <br /> the project. He will try to get them to commit to a time frame of <br /> some type. <br /> SHORES OF MARSHAN LAKE PARK BUILDING - Marty Asleson showed the <br /> board the most recent floor plans for the new parks and recreation <br /> building. He explained that requests for bids for construction have <br /> gone out and bids will be awarded at the February 14th Council <br /> meeting. Remodeling should begin shortly after that. The board <br /> talked about a lockable storage area and a restroom accessible to <br /> the proposed skating/warminghouse area. Marty explained that the <br /> DNR is very interested in leasing office space at this location. <br /> -^� This could be a means of additional income for the City.
