PARR BOARD MEETING
August 6, 1990
arena, and the business goes under, then what can the city do
with a domed structure if vacant? Inside Sports stresses
that the risks are low. The city believes that Inside Sports
would be successful, but the city is waiting to see some of
their dollars first. The city has not seen alot of financial
support from the organization, but feels that an agreement
will be met.
Inside Sports has been very aggressive in their promotion of
the facility. This has been a plus for Lino Lakes. People
are talking about Lino Lakes and the plans.
Harold Bisel asked the board members their opinion about
Inside Sports. All the board members were in favor of the
arena, saying that it would be a nice facility to have in our
city.
Harold Bisel addressed the board. He said that he feels the
board is taking the right step towards wanting to create a
comprehensive park plan. He said that if we spend the money
today - in the lone run we will save money because of the
increasing land prices. He applauds the park boards
thinking. Sometimes it is just too expensive if we don't do
things today. We are finding that out with sewer
installations.
Don Volk stated that there is no great city in the United
States that does not have a great park system.
This comprehensive park plan is important to everyone in the
city. The residents can use it, staff will refer to it. It
is important for the City of Lino Lakes to have a nice park
system.
Please let Laura Elken know if you would be interested in a
tour of Plymouth's park system.
Ray Johnson moved to adjourn the meeting. Meeting adjourned
at 8: 32 p.m.
Page 5
