PARK BOARD MINUTES <br /> JANUARY 4, 1989 <br /> approval. <br /> Bob Williams seconded the motion. Motion was approved <br /> unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> A. Ericksons Park <br /> Don Volk stated that we are waiting to hear back from the <br /> city attorney regarding financial surety for Erickson park <br /> dedication. The letter of credit may act as financial surety <br /> for the city. <br /> Don Volk stated an irrigation system is necessary for <br /> starting a ballfield. <br /> Don Volk met with staff and was directed to aggressively <br /> pursue a purchase price for the Apitz property. <br /> George Lindy felt that some prudent park dedication should be <br /> made on Ericksons Park before the purchase of the Apitz <br /> property. He feels the need for development is escalating in <br /> this area. <br /> Don Volk would like to start working on the following <br /> projects this spring: <br /> 1. Bit. parking lot with concrete $4,500. 00 <br /> curb and gutter <br /> 2. Play Equipment 15, 000. 00 <br /> 3. Topsoil 10, 000. 00 <br /> 4. Seeding 5, 000. 00 <br /> 5. Agricultural Lime Softball Infield 3, 000 . 00 <br /> 6. Softball Backstop 2, 000. 00 <br /> 7. Homeplate, Pitch Rubber & Bases 250. 00 <br /> 8. Hockey Rink dasher boards 5, 000. 00 <br /> TOTAL AMOUNT 44, 750 . 00 <br /> 8: 45 p.m. Mayor Ben Benson, and Councilman Vern Reinert <br /> joined the meeting. <br /> The board talked about reassessing Ericksons park, and <br /> discussion regarding installing a hockey rink, v. s. a <br /> pleasure rink. <br /> 4 <br />
