PARK BOARD MINUTES October 3 , 1988
4) Board did not want the additional 6' of walkway
on the street connecting Deerwood and Red Fox
Lane.
Chairman Ray Johnson recommends deleting the pond from the
final park dedication plan. Upon deletion, final park
dedication will be approved.
RICE LAKE ESTATES PARK/UPDATE
Don Volk states that lot 1 and 2 have not yet been obtained,
nor the $40, 000 Park dedication fee paid. The city is in
the process of taking the necessary action, to assure park
dedication will take place.
1988 Budget Improvement $8, 000. 00
Don Volk suggested the $8,000. 00 be spent on one of the
following ways:
1) D. Ericksons 2nd Addition - preliminary work
on grading, seeding, and top soil as necessary.
2) Sunrise Park - irrigating for underground
sprinkling system.
Don is in favor of the 2nd option. The park will be going
through a reallignment of ballfields, therefore, it would be
an excellent time to install the sprinkling system.
To irrigate the ballfield alone would be about $7, 000. The
material that is used is a heavy ABS plastic, which will
withstand freezing and shifting of land.
The cost will be approximately $24,000 to irrigate all of
Sunrise Park.
Don will obtain material quotes, and proceed with
installation.
OLD BUSINESS
1. OPINION SURVEY: The Park Board has taken several steps
towards giving the people of our city what they want in a
park system. Reshanau Lake Estates is a good example of
this, with ballfields and bike and walking trails.
n
Page 4
