. PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, APRIL 6, 1992
going between lots 9 & 10 on block 2 . He recalls that when the
developer (Eibensteiner) was before the park board in 1989 to get
park board approval of his plan, the developer agreed to install a
15 foot walking trail between lots 8 and 9 over the utility
easement. In researching this agreement, it was discovered that
this plat was recorded without any mention of a walking trail
between lots 9 & 10 or 8 & 9 on block 2 . It seems that the
developer never roughed in the trail as he was supposed to do.
Marty Asleson contacted the developer and the developer has agreed
to put the walkway in and get the easement deeded over to the City.
Ray Johnson asked if we could still get a path there without
cutting the large Butternut tree down. Marty Asleson felt the same
and will try to get the trail without removing the large tree.
Rohavic Oaks - Marty Asleson referred the board to the explanation
of this issue in their packets, showed an overhead view of this
development and pointed out that the comprehensive plan identifies
a need for a parcel of land and access point to the Regional Park
from this development. The property in question is located right at
the S curve, on the north side of White Pine Road. He (Marty)
explained that Ron Cox from Anoka County is still researching to
see if the county actually has first right of refusal for this
piece of property. If so, then they would lease this property to
the City at the cost of $1 per year. If this is determined not to
be possible, then there is possibly another alternative, that would
be using Old Town Road as an access point. Old Town Road is the
next best option as it is a road right-of-way. Marty Asleson
stressed that a trail in this area is an important link in our
trail system. He will continue to pursue this issue and come back
to the board with follow-up information.
OTHER NEW BUSINESS: There was no other new business.
ADJOURN: A motion to adjourn was made by John Bauman, seconded by
Candi Toffoli . All were in favor. Meeting was adjourned at 9 : 00 pm.
THE NEXT REGULARLY SCHEDULED MEETING IS MONDAY, MAY 4, 1992 AT 6: 30
PM.
6
