PARR BOARD MEETING
FEBRUARY 3, 1992
before this subdivision (Quail Ridge) comes back to the park board
for further discussion. Dan Boxrud, Consulting Engineer, and Linda
Elliott met with Marty Asleson at the subdivision site a couple of
weeks ago.
Marty Asleson reports that he discussed the problem of crime
regarding trails nearby homes, with people from Shoreview and
Andover, and comments here were positive. This concern was a topic
of discussion at the last meeting. Bill Nissen asked if anyone had
contacted Blaine regarding this. Marty Asleson will call them and
follow up on it. John Baumann suggested talking to some homeowners
who have similar trails nearby them to get another perspective.
Shores of Marshan Lake Development - Marty Asleson prefaced this
agenda item with an explanation of how the Park Board came to be
interested in the potential purchase of buildings located on the
proposed dedicated park land in the Shores of Marshan Lake
development. He handed out information with purchase prices of the
two buildings, and a copy of a written offer to sell the buildings
from Mr. Ernie Zelinka of The Professionals, Inc. (A copy of the
offer is attached at the back of these minutes. ) These buildings
are owned by Mr. Bob Yak of Bastien Products.
There are two buildings being offered for sale, one is a 26' x 80'
steel pole barn for $2,750, the other is a 28' x 64 ' wood frame
building with 10' side walls, well and septic system for
$13 , 000. 00.
Mr. Asleson explained that the retail building is a fairly new
structure and the Anoka County Assessor has appraised it at $10. 00
per square foot, the assessed value is $14 , 000 .00. This building is
completely unfinished inside, no insulation, but it is wired. He
would recommend that the park board buy this building. The utility
building is not a real good buy at $2700. Also it would be costly
to take the utility building down and move it. After discussion,
all of the members in attendance felt that the purchase of the
retail building at the cost of $13 , 000 is a reasonable price. Bill
Nissen commented that this is a real quality looking building and
it has great potential. Mr. Nissen asked if it appears that there
will be any problems with this new subdivision. Don Volk noted
there are a couple of snags as with any new development, but
nothing unusual at this point.
MOTION: Bill Nissen made a motion to pursue the $13000. 00 asking
price and the terms of the selling agreement. It was seconded by
John Baumann. All were in favor. Motion passed.
AOON LCMR Funding: - Marty Asleson reports that Jeff Schoenbauer of
2
