_h <br /> AGENDA ITEM <br /> 4-A <br /> STAFF ORIGINATOR Marty Asleson <br /> DATE Feb. 28 , 1992 <br /> TOPIC Birch Park Shelter Purchase <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> In November of 1989, the Parks and Recreation Department signed a <br /> lease agreement with Hilltop Trailer Sales, Inc. to provide an 8' <br /> x 24' mobile office for a park shelter in Birch Park. The sale <br /> price for this trailer was $4850.00. The next three months of lease <br /> monies were deducted, and according to the terms of the agreement, <br /> put the next 19 months of lease months would have 50% deducted from <br /> the purchase price of the unit. The balance as of September 1991 <br /> was $2850. 00. We were able to extend the 50% deduction down to <br /> include 30 months total. This trailer is heavily used in the winter <br /> and could be used for playground programs in the summer. <br /> OPTIONS <br /> 1. ) Continue to use the unit at $160. 00/month <br /> 2 . ) Purchase the unit with dedicated park dollars for the pay- <br /> off/purchase price of $2370.00 (pay-off price as of 3/1/92) <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Option #2 - Purchase the Unit <br />
