Dear Don and Marty, As per your request, I am submitting an outline for the two additional work tasks that, as you may recall at the outset of the project,the City decided to hold off on for later consideration once the project was underway.We have now reached the point in the project where a decision needs to be made as to whether or not the City wants to include these two tasks in the scope of the project. Both tasks, in my opinion, are important from a comprehensive planning standpoint and should be given strong consideration. Each of the tasks are outlined below along with an estimated fee to complete them. Task I - Administrative/Management Framework This task deals with important administrative/management issues that affect the development of the park and recreation system. The scope of this task would include: • highlighting and defining important administrative and management issues. • establish a framework and course of action to guide the continued development of administrative procedures/policies and management techniques. Specific issues that would be included as part of this task include: • Parks & Recreation Board's Role: defines the role and responsibility that board members play in overseeing the development of the park system. • Parks and Recreation Department Structure: defines the staff structure of the Parks and Recreation Department based on current practice. Also includes a brief description of individual staff positions and related responsibilities. • Recreation Programming Guidelines:defines how recreational programs impact the development of the park system.Also identifies important issues related to their development and how programming is likely to be affected by changes in recreational trends in the future. • Communication Guidelines: defines the basic components of a comprehensive communications and community interaction strategy. 0 Joint-Use Agreement(s)Guidelines:defines the essential elements of joint-use agreements and identifies their basic parameters. 7901 Flying Cloud Drive Eden Prairie MN 55344 Tel(612)941-1660 Fax(612)941-1663
