The meeting
was attended by about 15 residents and Marty, Bob Williams, John
Baumann, George Lindy and Brian Bourassa from the Park Board. The
purpose of this meeting was to get input from the neighbors
regarding the budget. $18,000 is the park board limit for
development of this mini park. George Lindy commented that there
still is a bit of confusion regarding a park in this area. It seems
there are some residents that are not yet certain that the mini
. park will be going in. Hopefully they will soon understand that
this is a "done deal. "
Marty commented that the neighbors involved have made a firm
commitment to help with the park project. Now that winter is near
he thinks perhaps city crews could start to do some thinning and
clearing in the area. Completion of this park will be a priority
project.
Leonard and Bradley Park - The neighbors joined with a city crew
and a representative of the equipment company on Saturday October
23rd to construct the park equipment. Marty Asleson reports that
everyone had a good time and a lot of work was done. He read a
letter he received from residents thanking everyone involved for
their help. The neighbors talked about having a ribbon cutting
ceremony to celebrate the "new park. "
N-14/Park at Baldwin Lake - Marty Asleson referred to copies of a
letter sent to him and all board members from Tim Yantos, Chairman
of Shoreview Covenant Church. That letter explained that the Church
is interested in purchasing property in the N-14 area. They have
been looking at a parcel of approximately 16.7 acres. The owner of
this property will not sell less than the entire parcel. The church
needs only about five acres. They have signed a purchase agreement
with the owner to purchase the 16.7 acres for $210, 000. 00. This
breaks down to $12,574.00 per acre.
