-. CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
MONDAY, JULY 12, 1993
residents involved.
There was discussion about a site plan. Marty Asleson suggested
Brauer & Associates do this, he thinks the cost would be about
$2000. He reminded the board that they had previously decided on
the sum of $18, 000 for developing the mini park. Residents in
attendance suggested that neighbors would most likely volunteer to
help with setting up park equipment, etc. Marty thought that with
residents help in cutting costs, the cost of a site plan would fall
easily within the $18, 000 figure. There was some concern about
spending an additional sum for a plan drawing, but the general
consensus was that it would be best to go ahead with it and try to
keep the residents better informed. Marty suggested that work could
probably start this year yet. He will contact Brauer & Associates
to start on a site drawing. The procedure will also involve
meeting with resident to get their input.
Joe Schmidt questioned why this item was on the agenda again. He
thinks enough time has been spent on this by now. Marty explained
that because we had received another petition, it required further
discussion.
MOTION: After more discussion Joe Schmidt made a motion to
recommend to proceed with development of a mini park as previously
presented. In addition, to spend $2000 for Brauer & Associates to
prepare a site drawing. Motion was seconded by Bob Williams. All
were in favor - motion carried.
e. Country Lakes Master Plan Update
Re-designing Country Lakes Park - At this time all the
information has not been received from the DNR, The Army Corps of
Engineers, the State Historical Society, the Rice Creek Watershed
District and LAWCON and all other agencies involved in the
permitting process. This item will be on the next agenda. When the
board is ready to make final decisions they will invite citizen
input.
f. Sunset Oaks Park Renovation Update
This park at Leonard and Bradley Streets is targeted for
upgrading. There have been three meetings with residents in this
area and they have decided on their priorities and expenditures
that include new playground equipment, engineering costs, grading,
seed, two benches, a picnic table, timber edger, miscellaneous
hardware and the costs for the equipment company to send someone
out to supervise while the neighbors construct the equipment. The
total budget is estimated at between $14,760 and $17,760 depending
upon final grading costs.
5
