April 2, 1993
Mr. John McClellan
Superintendent Centennial School District
Independent School District No. 12
Dear Mr. McClellan
This is a follow up letter to your comments on my letter dated
March 27, 1993 that concerned the park land needs west of the land
trade area in Pheasant Hills Preserve. Since this is an important
piece of land in our comprehensive plan, we would like to request
a first right to purchase this piece of property should the School
District decide to sell this property in the future. Although you
indicate that the school district has zero interest in selling this
property, we would like to ensure the opportunity in the distant
future should that occasion ever arise. Therefore we would like a
letter of first right of refusal just in case this should happen.
In the mean time should this land not be sold for many years, we
would still like to reestablish the agreement for joint use that
was established in 1987. We have shown a need here in the
immediate future and the joint use would save the taxpayer
duplicated land purchases for public use. Thank you for this
consideration.
Sincerely
Marty Asleson
Parks, Recreation and Forestry Coordinator
City of Lino Lakes
