r� <br /> There was considerable discussion regarding what the terms <br /> will be if a land swap is made. What will the City get in <br /> return? Discussion took place from the area residents who <br /> came to the meeting to voice their opinions. They stated <br /> that they all wanted the park left as a greenland. They <br /> didn' t want a tot lot or anything to go into the park. They <br /> understood the park was dedicated to the community. They <br /> were very upset regarding this whole matter. <br /> CONCERNS: * Inpact on traffic situation <br /> * Would like to see an additional road coming in <br /> * Right of Way of road does not meet City Code <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson read Randy Schumacher' s letter <br /> regarding Vacation/Land swap for LaMotte Park. <br /> 1) Must notify all property owners in surrounding area <br /> of a Public Hearing to be held at Council level . <br /> 2) Counicl must approve the ordinance to vacate by 4/5 <br /> vote. <br /> His recommendation was for the City Council to proceed with <br /> the public hearing, but not take final action at this time. <br /> When the public hearing is completed, the developer would <br /> then have the option of proceeding with his plat as proposed <br /> or making adjustments. Final approval of the plat would be <br /> contingent upon the exchange of the park land with the <br /> developer. <br /> Don Volk read his report - to sum it up, he gave the Park <br /> Board Members some ideas to take into consideration on the <br /> subdivision proposal. He discussed types of facilities and <br /> activities the City would plan on. Don Volk pointed out <br /> that the developer could afford to spend or donate an <br /> additional $10,000. 00 or so. Since the City of Lino Lakes <br /> would be giving him two buildable lots, by switching <br /> parkland. <br /> Chairman Ray Johnson recommended to amend motion until <br /> developer evaluates his position. Is he going to propose a <br /> monitary plan to be spent on parks around the City of Lino <br /> Lakes? This issue should come back to the Park Board for <br /> further discussion. <br /> MOTION: Motion was made by Chairman Johnson for Mr. <br /> Roessler to change his plans and bring them back to the Park <br /> Board. Hen Johnson seconded motion. <br /> Mr. Lindy commented regarding the residents and future <br /> residents deserving explanation of procedure and reasoning <br /> for this situation.
