PARK BOARD
September 3, 1986
Page Three
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVIEW
The Board was scheduled to review the park requirements as part
of the comprehensive plan review which the Comp Plan Task Force is
currently reviewing. The consensus of the Board was that any
changes to the park requirements would be premature if made at
this meeting due to the fact that the Task Force is considering
changing densities through a large part of the City and these
density changes would affect park requiremements for the future.
PUDWILL/LIEBERAM MINOR SUBDIVISION PARK DEDICATION
The minor subdivision approved for Pudwill/Lieberam went before the
Park Board for consideration. Mr. Volk reported that 30+ acres
had been divided into two 15. 9+ acres each and that $160 in park
dedication fees has already been collected by the City Clerk. Two
building sites were created in this subdivision. Therefore the
Park Board did not need to review this issue.
REVIEW PARK DEDICATION ORDINANCE
It was brought to the attention of the Board, by staff , that there
is alot of confusion with regard to the current park dedication
ordinance. Because the language is cumbersome, several interpreta-
tions have resulted. The Board discussed the intent of the current
ordinance and agreed that the language should be clarified. Mr.
Flannery agreed to draft a revision to the ordinance, keeping the
same intent, but clarifying the language. He will contact Mr.
Schumacher and Mr. Volk for input and have the draft completed
for the Park Board' s review at their next meeting.
VANDALISM
No vandalism of any consequence has been reported since the last
meeting of the Park Board.
Mr. Volk reported that the Major Crime Investigation Unit which
has been assigned to investigate the vandalism that took place
recently at Sunrise Park has not yet begun the investigation.
Mr. Volk has requested through the Lino Lakes Police Chief that
this be handled in-house. No response has yet been received.
Park Department is currently working with insurance company for
reimbursement.
OLD BUSINESS
- Mr. Volk reported that playground equipment for Lino and Arena
Acres Parks is in and being erected.
- City crews have been working on LaMotte park leveling fill and
there are plans to seed this fall (per Mr. Volk) .
- Mr. Volk is working with Moline concrete and other competitors
Ao_ for concrete picnic tables.
