PARK BOARD <br /> September 9 , 1985 <br /> Page Two <br /> cation was unquestionably defined within the new park dedication <br /> policy and to bring these conveyance requests before the Park <br /> Board would unnecessarily delay the approval process . <br /> OPEN MIKE <br /> Ron Ailara- Athletic Association - Mr. Ailara appeared at the <br /> meeting with a request for the Park Board/City' s assistance in <br /> running electricity to the shed near the BMX track. The Athletic <br /> Association does not have the funds to do this . <br /> Mr. Ray Johnson suggested that Mr. Ailara confer with the newly <br /> formed board for the BMX track for some assistance . Mr. Johnson <br /> has recently had some involvement with this board and recalled <br /> that the board has discussed this issue at their recent meeting. <br /> Mr. Ailara agreed to contact the BMX board and return to the <br /> Park Board at a later date if necessary, with a written request <br /> and cost estimates . <br /> Mr. Ray Johnson reported more BMX news under Old Business . <br /> TAX FORFEIT LAND IN SUNSET OAKS <br /> Mr. Schumacher reported that the City has received a letter <br /> dated 8/13/85 from Anoka County regarding certain properties <br /> within Lino Lakes which have gone tax forfeit and for which <br /> the City has the first option to receive for a one dollar con- <br /> sideration. <br /> Two lots of particular interest to the Park Board are Lot 1 , <br /> Block 7 and Lot 2 , Block 11 in Sunset Oaks . Mr. Schumacher <br /> stated that the south half of Lot 2 , Block 11 is presently a <br /> holding pond, but that the rest of that Lot and Lot 1 , Block <br /> 7 may possibly be used for City purposes . <br /> MOTION: Mr. Ray Johnson moved to recommend to Council that <br /> the City take the necessary steps to obtain the deeds for the <br /> properties which have gone tax forfeit , particularly Lot 1 , <br /> Block 7 and Lot 2 , Block 11 in Sunset Oaks . Motion seconded <br /> by Mr. Nissen and carried unanimously. <br /> COUNCIL/PARK BOARD COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mayor Benson asked to have a few minutes with the Board at this <br /> time because he would need to attend the Council meeting in a <br /> few minutes . He assured the Board that the Council is aware <br /> of the Park Board' s concerns with respect to communications <br /> between the Board and Council and the division of responsibilities , <br /> and that the Council has no intention to circumvent the Park <br /> Board , or give the Planning and Zoning Board the responsibilities <br /> of the Park Board. <br /> He asked each member to speak out and become involved and con- <br />
