Benches and tables have
been set aside for Country Lakes Park .
Have not completed the tables to add to the parks .
- Have planted some seedlings in the nursery. The nursery is
planned to be a joint venture with Circle Pines . Circle Pines
is planning to add to the nursery yet this year.
The Board discussed the list of proposed improvements for the parks
which Mr . Volk had sent out in June . The following details were
mentioned:
- Some of the equipment listed as possible future purchases were
quite expensive (such as a tree spade) , and it was felt that
neighboring cities may want to "trade" or "borrow" this type
of equipment , or Lino Lakes could rent the equipment . Mr . Volk
stated that these measures are currently being taken , however,
"borrowing" between cities is not legal . The Minnesota Public
Works Association, of which Mr. Volk is a member, is in the
process of drafting something which would make this habit not
only convenient , but also legal .
- As far as which projects should receive priority, Mr . Volk
stated that he is attempting to get the City crew involved
in spotting the needs and relaying them to him. The only
real priority that is agreed to by all is updating the tot
lot at Lino Park .
- Mr. Volk will have a rough draft of a five year capital im-
provement plan completed for the next regular Park Board
meeting, which will include time frames , costs and funding
information.
JOINT MEETING BETWEEN PARK/P 8 Z/COUNCIL/ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Chairman Johnson announced that a special joint meeting has been
scheduled for 5 : 30 P .M. , July 10 , 1985 . Mr. Volk agreed that the residents have not done
much in keeping up the park , but that the City crews would be
mowing all City property, including LaMotte Park, in the next
couple weeks .
NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Nissen asked if the City Foresty program was supported by
$1 per capita, to make the City eligible for another program
