City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> August 5, 1996 <br /> SURVEY UPDATE: <br /> The Park Board Members were given a copy of the survey at the <br /> meeting. Marty said he would like to add a question pertaining <br /> to plowing of trails in the winter to the survey. Marty asked <br /> the members to review the survey and contact him, as soon as <br /> possible, with their comments . <br /> Paul wanted to know the time schedule of the survey. Joe asked <br /> if it would be done before the end of August. Marty said he <br /> thought they would be done in August . <br /> FORESTRY UPDATE: <br /> Marty informed the board that bids will be going out for <br /> contracted boulevard tree planting of 135 trees . <br /> Marty said the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, <br /> Forestry Division invited staff and Park Board members to a <br /> celebration of a milestone in the successful battle against oak <br /> wilt . He said the event will be at Pioneer Park in Blaine on <br /> Tuesday, August 20, 1996, at 12 :30 . He asked members to let him <br /> '~ know if they would like to attend this event with Mike Hoffman, <br /> Mayor Landers, and himself . <br /> RECREATION UPDATE: <br /> Marty did a slide show that showed this summers playground <br /> program in progress . He talked about the playground program and <br /> said it would run two weeks longer this year than previously. <br /> There were alot of kids in the program this summer and Barry' s <br /> staff was very creative this year. Marty said Barry has done a <br /> tremendous job on this program. <br /> Fall softball will be starting the week of August 11 and soccer <br /> registration is in progress with practices schedule to start <br /> around the 15th of August. <br /> FRIENDS OF THE PARR UPDATE: <br /> The Friends have not had a meeting recently but Betty gave an <br /> update of the Friends golf tournament . The tournament has been <br /> rescheduled for either July 19 or June 28, 1997 . Barry will be <br /> talking to Bill Hawk to confirm the date for 1997 . <br /> OTHER PARK UPDATES: <br /> Marty reported work has started on the Quailridge master plan. <br /> 8 <br />
