City of Lino Lakes Park Board Meeting August 5, 1996 SURVEY UPDATE: The Park Board Members were given a copy of the survey at the meeting. Marty said he would like to add a question pertaining to plowing of trails in the winter to the survey. Marty asked the members to review the survey and contact him, as soon as possible, with their comments . Paul wanted to know the time schedule of the survey. Joe asked if it would be done before the end of August. Marty said he thought they would be done in August . FORESTRY UPDATE: Marty informed the board that bids will be going out for contracted boulevard tree planting of 135 trees . Marty said the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Forestry Division invited staff and Park Board members to a celebration of a milestone in the successful battle against oak wilt . He said the event will be at Pioneer Park in Blaine on Tuesday, August 20, 1996, at 12 :30 . He asked members to let him '~ know if they would like to attend this event with Mike Hoffman, Mayor Landers, and himself . RECREATION UPDATE: Marty did a slide show that showed this summers playground program in progress . He talked about the playground program and said it would run two weeks longer this year than previously. There were alot of kids in the program this summer and Barry' s staff was very creative this year. Marty said Barry has done a tremendous job on this program. Fall softball will be starting the week of August 11 and soccer registration is in progress with practices schedule to start around the 15th of August. FRIENDS OF THE PARR UPDATE: The Friends have not had a meeting recently but Betty gave an update of the Friends golf tournament . The tournament has been rescheduled for either July 19 or June 28, 1997 . Barry will be talking to Bill Hawk to confirm the date for 1997 . OTHER PARK UPDATES: Marty reported work has started on the Quailridge master plan. 8
