City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
-- May 6, 1996
Highway 61, through Centerville and into Lino Lakes and hooking
into the regional park. This grant passed the Citizens Committee
and will go to the Legislative Committee and then to LCMR.
Amy asked if we meet with the residents from each cities after we
obtain the grant . Marty said each city would have to take care
of their residents . She then asked if there was a time limit to
use the money before losing it . Marty said it is usually two
years but he wasn' t sure.
Paul Montain asked if Marty met with Centerville. Marty said yes
he has met with the Park Board and the Mayor. He will go back to
them when he has more information.
TRAILS COMMITTEE RESOLUTION RECONSIDERATION:
Last year the Park and Recreation Board sent a resolution to the
City Council establishing a trail committee for the City of Lino
Lakes . The resolution was passed, by the City Council, on
November 2 , 1995 .
This item was brought to the City Council on February 23 with a
list of trail committee recommendations . At that time the
council wished to clarify a few issues in regards to the
resolution before appointing trail committee members .
The questions that needed to be clarified concerned the staggered
lengths and terms of appointments and how the reporting system is
to occur.
After further discussion the Park Board passed the following
motion.
MOTION•
A motion was made by Joe Schmidt to recommend the City Council
stagger the terms of the committee members at 3 years and 2
years, and have the Trail Committee report directly to the Park
Board. The motion was seconded by Pam Taschuk and passed
unanimously.
The members will be George Lindy, Laura Wolf, Jody Budde, and Ted
Blanson. Kurt Rausch, Police Department, Dave Ahrens or Michael
Krech, Engineering Department, and Marty Asleson will also attend
the meetings .
9
