' vv <br /> City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> May 6, 1996 <br /> The May 6, 1996, City of Lino Lakes Park Board meeting was called <br /> to order at 6 : 35pm. By Chair, George Lindy. <br /> Roll call was taken, members present were George Lindy, Joe <br /> Schmidt, Pam Taschuk, Amy Donlin, Sharon Lane and Paul Montain. <br /> Also present were Marty Asleson, Park, Recreation, and Forestry <br /> Coordinator and Sandie Wood, Recording Secretary. Betty Piper <br /> did not attend the meeting. <br /> Marty congratulated George and Joe for being re-appointed to the <br /> Park Board. George congratulated Paul for being newly elected. <br /> ELECTION OF BOARD CHAIR: <br /> Sharon Lane nominated George Lindy as chair of the Park Board. <br /> Joe Schmidt seconded the motion and George was reelected by a <br /> voice vote . <br /> APPROVAL OF APRIL 1, 1996 MINUTES: <br /> George discussed making a change to the minutes on Page 1, second <br /> paragraph. They read "The Park Board felt it was very important <br /> that the residents be given background information so they would <br /> be able to give informed answers when doing the survey." This <br /> was discussed at the meeting but the whole board did not feel <br /> this way, therefore, he deleted this sentence from the minutes . <br /> Sharon Lane made a motion to approve the minutes as amended, <br /> seconded by Pam Taschuk. Motion carried. <br /> OPEN MIKEā€¢ <br /> There was no one present for open mike . <br /> BIRCHWOOD/PARK GROVE PARK: <br /> Marty gave background on this park. He said the City Council <br /> approved the Park Boards recommendation to fund park development <br /> in this neighborhood. Funding was limited to $15, 000 . An <br /> initial meeting was scheduled with the neighborhood last year to <br /> review the master plan developed for the park. Subsequent to <br /> this meeting, changes were made to this plan based on <br /> neighborhood input . This plan was taken back to the neighborhood <br /> and met with acceptance. Both of these meetings were advertised. <br /> The plan was approved by the Park Board and the City Council . <br /> Flyers were sent out by the neighborhood group as well, notifying <br /> of the meetings . The neighborhood also took it on their own to <br /> survey the needs . The top priority was play equipment followed <br /> by the trail .
