CITY OF LINO LAKES
PARK BOARD MEETING
DECEMBER 2, 1996
Petition #1 - 1/2 court basketball court: Betty asked if Marty
had talked to George, from Brauer, about this issue. Marty said
yes and George said it was appropriate for the sw section of the
park.
Paul, Betty and Pam are opposed to the court, but, would rather
see it go in the sw corner rather then the nw corner.
George, Amy, Joe, and Sharon supported the 1/2 court basketball
court . Because they are not sure the additional land is going to
be obtained, they felt they should maximize the use of the space
now.
Chris Mayer, 6251 Red Hawk Trail, wanted to know if there is a
parking and voice problem with the Wenzel Farm Park because of
their basketball court .
Laurie Mazanec, 652 River Birch Place, wanted to know why the
Park Board was not looking at their surveys results .
Passed. Half court basketball court in the sw corner of park.
Petition #3 - Ballfield: Paul, Pam, Betty, Sharon, George, and
Amy were opposed to moving the backstop unless it becomes a room
factor.
Louise Fisher, 6396 Painted Turtle Road, asked why it was put
where it is . That location is not what was suggested on the
plan.
Paul supports a skinned field because he thinks it is safer.
(Use ag-lime)
Pam suggested that it be left grass because of safety reasons,
and it can be used for football, soccer, and other features .
Amy said leave it grass until the lower area is obtained.
Joe, Sharon, and Betty said to leave it grass .
George said if it is left grass there would be less chance for
` the field to be reserved.
Mr. Lindy read the field description from the Comprehensive Plan.
7
