City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> February 2, 1998 <br /> that a portion of that amount might be used for trail seal <br /> coating. <br /> George pointed out that there had been discussion of raising that <br /> amount to $30, 000, and asked the group to consider this matter. <br /> Rick recommended that the Board review the proposed trail paving <br /> list following the meeting. <br /> BOND REFERENDUM: <br /> Rick explained that Staff and members of the Park Board continue <br /> to meet for the purpose of identifying possibilities for a park <br /> referendum, and that the Board should come to a decision by its <br /> April 6, 1998 meeting whether to request that Council proceed <br /> with a special election. He presented the group with a list of <br /> items for consideration. <br /> Paul expressed appreciation for the effort being made to identify <br /> these items and compile the necessary information. <br /> QUAIL RIDGE MASTER PLAN MEETING: <br /> Rick indicated that approximately 15 area residents attended, and <br /> that productive discussion occurred. He added that concerns will <br /> be addressed at the next meeting on Thursday, February 12, 1998, <br /> at the Fire Station, where two or three concept plans will be <br /> presented for review. <br /> George stated that concern was expressed that completion of a <br /> trail system could increase crime activity within the area. He <br /> added that this issue will be researched. Pam asked if specific <br /> crime was mentioned, and Paul explained that breaking into houses <br /> was specified. Pam suggested that the increased traffic brought <br /> by a trail should deter crime. Betty pointed out that officers <br /> on foot and on bicycles patrolling the area would be helpful . <br /> George stated that Mr. Schoenbauer expressed strongly that <br /> installation of a trail would deter criminal activity. However, <br /> George stressed the need to provide additional information to the <br /> area residents to eliminate their concerns . <br /> Caroline Dahl - Rick introduced Caroline, welcoming her to the <br /> Park Board meeting. Caroline asked that she be notified of <br /> meetings where her input might be appropriate with respect to <br /> particular agenda items . <br /> George suggested that during discussions regarding a possible <br /> n bond referendum Council liaison would be particularly beneficial . <br /> 5 <br />
