COUNCIL MINUTES NOVEMBER 25, 1996 <br /> has fully completed the Department's 480-hour field training program and is currently assigned <br /> to street patrol. <br /> Attorney Hawkins conducted the swearing-in of Officer Vanna. <br /> Kimberly Wood, who came to Lino Lakes from the Minnesota State Fair Police Department in <br /> July of 1996. Kimberly graduated from Inver Grove Community College with an AS degree in <br /> law enforcement. She has fully completed the Department's 480-hour field training program and <br /> is currently assigned to street patrol. <br /> Attorney Hawkins conducted the swearing-in of Officer Kimberly Wood. <br /> Michael Rumpsa,previously a Stillwater small business owner, came to Lino Lakes Police <br /> Department in August of 1996. Michael graduated from St. Cloud State University with a BS <br /> degree in law enforcement. He is currently in the final phase of the Department's 480-hour field <br /> training program. <br /> Attorney Hawkins conducted the swearing-in of Officer Michael Rumpsa. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 96- 152, CREATING COMMUNITY, GORDON VOSS <br /> Mr. Voss explained that Creating Community is a group of approximately 50 people who are <br /> attempting to mobilize the areas of Centennial, Blaine and Spring Lake Park high schools. Mr. <br /> Voss asked Council for its endorsement of the group's efforts to be added to that of other area <br /> government organizations. <br /> Mayor Landers asked about liaison activities. Mr. Voss explained that there is a steering <br /> committee which meets once each month, and whatever liaison Council would provide would <br /> participate in the steering committee meetings. The purpose of the steering committee is to <br /> provide support for various local committees. <br /> Council Member Bergeson moved to adopt Resolution No. 96- 152, as presented, with Chief <br /> Pecchia and Marty Asleson as liaison candidates. Council Member Neal seconded the motion. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> Resolution No. 96 - 152 can be found at the end of these minutes. <br /> Mayor Landers apologized to the Lions Club for not having presented the Mayor's Community <br /> Service award plaque donated by the Lino Lakes Lions Club. He explained that the plaque will <br /> be placed in the City Hall entryway. <br /> 3 <br />
