City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
January 5, 1998
Barry pointed out that a number of the city' s parks are known by
more than one name. Consistency in naming parks should be a
priority.
Paul commended Vadnais Heights on its ordinance. Rick pointed
out that Vadnais Heights' ordinance is based in large part on
development of a substantial community park, not a residential
one .
Joe asked for time to evaluate the information presented.
George suggested that everyone give thought to possibilities and
revisit this issue at a future meeting.
Pam asked for clarification regarding the Hokanson 3-acre parcel .
Rick explained that this land constitutes Mr. Hokanson' s required
dedicated park land, and that it is not a donation which must be
deeded over to the city. Barry added that the city already owns
the land.
George suggested that the group compile a list of criteria which
would be incorporated into an ordinance. The warming houses, originally scheduled to open
on December 13, are anticipated to open on January 1 . All
programs are being pushed back two weeks to allow time for
ice improvement.
• Breakfast with Santa was a huge success . About 120 people
registered. Barry pointed out that although it is an
4
