City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
November 2, 1998
The City will provide the following:
1 . Street sweeping of Ivy Ridge Court and Ivy Ridge Lane, where
trail easements exist, two (2) times per year with
additional sweeping at the discretion of City staff .
2 . Provide trail signage indicating "No Motorized Vehicles
Allowed" .
3 . Provide split rail fence along the southern property line of
Lot 31 .
4 . Construct the bridge .
5 . Pave remaining trail segments .
Rick indicated that if this agreement is executed, he may
anticipate design of the bridge to occur this winter with
construction to begin in the spring of 1999 . Trail paving would
be done along with other trail work in 1999 .
Rick noted the cost estimate is $4, 300 for pre-cast concrete
slabs . He stated he would like to look into a prefabricated
bridge which would cost more. The cost estimate for the trail
construction is $7, 000 . There is $11, 400 remaining in the park
dedication fund for this project . Rick indicated that if the
agreement is acceptable the Association would like a clear
timeline regarding the project . The association is assuming the
bridge and trail will be done in 1999 .
Chair Lindy indicated he thought there was more that $11, 400
dedicated for this project . Rick stated that $6, 600 was taken
out for the site plan and abutment design. Rick stated the trail
and bridge are separate items . The trail will be addressed with
the annual trail paving projects . He stated a prefabricated
bridge is more visually pleasing, especially in this scenic,
natural area.
Chair Lindy stated that solid bids are needed for the bridge and
installation. He asked if the slabs are being donated. Molin
has helped the City out with slabs in the past . He stated the
whole issue needs to be revisited.
Paul asked about the anticipated use of the bridge and trail .
^ Rick stated he believes the trail will be moderately used by the
Wenzel Farms residents and the adjoining neighborhoods . He
stated it is not a destination trail .
2
