City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
n
July 6, 1998
Chair Lindy indicated he would like to move the process along.
It is worthwhile to spend some extra money to get these things
put in this year.
Pat noted that a selling point to get $50, 000 per year from the
City Council is to address the needs of teenagers in the parks .
Rick stated that the 1/2 basketball court could possibly be done
in August 1998, with the trail paving. Residents could help
install the playground equipment. He noted that a concrete court
will double the cost of installation.
Paul Montain, made a motion, seconded by Pat Huelman, to proceed
with play structure, 1/2 court basketball court, trail system
connecting to Baldwin Park, bring park to grade, and clear the
park with an additional approximately $25, 700 from Park
Dedication funds which will be reimbursed if the lots on Sandhill
Drive are sold. The motion was approved unanimously.
DONATION FROM EARTHKEEPERS:
Rick referred to a letter from a Grass Roots Environmental
Organization called Earthkeepers . The group has recently
disbanded and has donated funds to use for beautification
projects to the five area City Park Boards. The City of Lino
Lakes portion is $128 . 12 .
Paul thanked the Earthkeepers for their donation.
REVIEW OF NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT BIDS:
Rick stated that the City Council awarded the playground
equipment bids at the June 22, 1998, Council meeting.
