City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> n <br /> July 6, 1998 <br /> on a number of factors including equipment quality and quantity, <br /> safety considerations, aesthetic appeal, and the play experience <br /> provided. <br /> Rick indicated that he met with area residents on Thursday, June <br /> 25, 1998, to select playground colors . Installation for Birch <br /> Park will be on Saturday, August 15, 1998, 9: 00am. Installation <br /> for Shenandoah Park will be on Saturday, August 22, 1998, 9: 00am. <br /> Installation at Lino Park is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, <br /> 1998, 9: 00am. He stated that the City has had sufficient <br /> response for volunteers to assist with the installation of <br /> equipment at Birch Park and Shenandoah Park. There has been no <br /> response for Lino Park. <br /> Chair Lindy suggested the need for volunteers at Lino Park be <br /> mentioned to the soccer and little league teams that play at Lino <br /> Park. <br /> Pam asked if the Lions Club is involved with Lino Park. Rick <br /> stated that the Lions Club has made donations to Lino Park in the <br /> past. Pam also suggested the City contact the PTO for Lino <br /> Elementary. <br /> Rick indicated he will contact the organizations suggested to ask <br /> for volunteers to help install the equipment . <br /> Shenandoah Park Equipment Location - Rick stated that he would <br /> like to discuss the location of the new playground equipment at <br /> Shenandoah Park. He explained that it makes more sense to locate <br /> the new equipment where the existing ice rink is located. This <br /> would maximize the open play area for this park. <br /> Rick stated that Brauer & Associates have submitted three concept <br /> plans regarding where to locate the park amenities . He indicated <br /> that Concept 1 maximizes the open play area in the park. <br /> Pam stated that she is in favor of Concept 1 . <br /> Pat noted that the ball field will require a lot of fill because <br /> the left field line is very high. Rick indicated that if a ball <br /> field is done fill will be needed. Concept 1 will allow for <br /> flexibility if it is determined the ball field should be <br /> relocated. The ball field is not currently being used because of <br /> the marsh area. An ice rink would be appropriate in that <br /> location but would need adequate trails for maintenance workers <br /> to get to the rink. <br /> n Pat asked if there are any neighborhood issues regarding <br /> placement of park amenities .
