City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
June 1, 1998
Comprehensive Plan should be in good alignment and all Boards
should share the same understanding for future plans for the City
of Lino Lakes .
Sharon thanked Mayor Sullivan for the opportunity to be involved
in City planning. She stated the Park Board is currently
proactive as opposed to reactive.
Paul noted that communication has been very much improved with
the addition of Rick in the Parks and Recreation Department.
HOLLY ESTATES PLAT REVIEW:
Rick stated that it appears that any trail segments leading from
the Holly Estates Development to Birch Park cannot be merged with
the future trail that connects the Trappers Crossing Development
to Birch Park. Therefore, there are two options :
1 . Create a trail segment from the northwestern corner of
the Holly Estates Development northward to Birch Park.
This trail would entail crossing a significant amount
of wetland.
2 . Create a trail along Holly Drive eastward to the
Trappers Crossing Development. Birch Park can then be
accessed via the Trappers Crossing trail .
Acting Chair Schmidt asked if Rick recommended option #2 . Rick
indicated that he did recommend option #2 .
Pat asked for verification that the trail could reach Birch Park.
Rick indicated that the trail could be installed in the existing
road right-of-way on the north side of Holly Drive.
Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Sharon Lane, to accept
option #2 to create a trail along Holly Drive eastward to the
Trappers Crossing Development and to request cash dedication in
lieu of park land. The motion was approved unanimously.
COLLOVA ADDITION DEVELOPMENT PLAT REVIEW:
Rick stated that each Park Board Member had received a
preliminary plat for the Collova Addition which consists of 2 . 3
acres .
Rick recommended a cash dedication in lieu of park land.
Rick stated that the comprehensive park and trail plan does not
indicate the need for an east/west connection from Hodgson Road
00%., (near Fox trace) westward to the Woods of Baldwin Park area.
2
