City of Lino Lakes <br /> Park Board Meeting <br /> June 1, 1998 <br /> Acting Chair Schmidt stated that the park issues could not be met <br /> with this plat. He stated the Park Board' s concerns regarding <br /> this issue needed to be addressed. <br /> Rick stated that the trail issue and cash dedication in lieu of <br /> park land are two separate issues . The developer does need a <br /> recommendation regarding the trail needs . The developer is in <br /> the process of preparing a site plan for the Planning and Zoning <br /> Board and City Council . <br /> Acting Chair Schmidt asked if requiring a trail easement for Lots <br /> #l, #2, #3, #4, and #5 would create an undue hardship for Collova <br /> Builders . He stated that the site plan should indicate that the <br /> houses are set back far enough for a future trail easement . <br /> Pat Huelman made a motion, seconded by Pam Taschuk, to recommend <br /> a cash dedication in lieu of park land and require the addition <br /> of an easement of the north side of Lots #l, #2, #3, #4, and #5 <br /> in the proposed Collova Addition Development, providing there is <br /> no undue hardship on Collova Builders . The motion was approved <br /> unanimously. <br /> n SUKIARY OF STORM DAMAGE - PARK AREAS: <br /> Rick stated that the May 15, 1998, storm resulted in significant <br /> damage at Sunrise Park and Woods of Baldwin Park. <br /> At Sunrise Park, approximately 65 large trees were removed and an <br /> additional 40-50 trees required radical pruning. Other damage <br /> included roof damage to shelter #2, roof damage to the warming <br /> house, outfield fencing at Field #2, and minimal damage to the <br /> fencing on Field #1 and Field #3 . <br /> Woods of Baldwin Park also suffered significant tree damage. The <br /> wooden fence near the park entrance was demolished and will need <br /> to be replaced. <br /> At Rice Lake Elementary, a five row bleacher was demolished as <br /> well as some fence damage. <br /> At the Middle School, many trees were damaged throughout the <br /> athletic field areas and trails . <br /> Shenandoah Park and Country Lakes Park also had minimal tree <br /> damage. <br /> Rick stated that the Parks and Recreation Department is assisting <br /> Lino Lakes residents that are still in need of help cleaning up <br /> their brush and construction debris .
