City of Lino Lakes
Park Board Meeting
June 7, 1999
Mr. John Johnson, Engineer for Mr. Uhde, stated the trails in
Behm' s 5th Addition will be graded when the watermain is
completed. He stated there is room for 6-8 cars on the street .
There is also space for a very small parking lot in the corner of
the park if the City desires one.
Mr. Bret Shroyer, 119 Mustang Court, came forward and stated the
neighbors he has talked to do not like the idea of selling park
property. However, they would rather have amenities in a smaller
park than no amenities in a large park.
Another resident came forward and stated there were many
residents who were not aware that a vote would be taken regarding
the plan at the last meeting. Because of that many people who
are in favor of the park did not attend the last meeting.
Mr. Randy Gamer, 107 Pony Court, came forward and stated he was
against the previous plan. There was concern regarding the sale
of park property and the six houses on Palomino Lane. He stated
he was happy with the work and compromise that went into the
revised plan. He stated his family is very excited for a park
that can be used now.
Mr. Chad Spencer, 101 Pony Court, stated he appreciates the
revised plan and feels it works a lot better. He indicated he is
very pleased with the revised plan and is no longer opposed to
the project .
Paul stated consideration for the park within 6th Addition and
Moliter parcel needs to be included in the developers agreement .
Awareness of the larger park needs to be made if there is a
different developer or a new Park Board.
Rick advised that this plan is based on the commitment to develop
a larger park to the north of the Behm' s Century Farm
development . He stated he also has signed forms indicating
support of the plan from the four most affected homeowners .
Paul Montain made a motion, seconded by Jeff Reinert, to approve
the concept plan with consideration of a park in the next
addition. The motion passed unanimously.
Rick noted the next step is to go through the ordinance process .
He suggested the process for new playground equipment may begin
after the first Council discussion of the plan.
4
